Clinical Psychologist

As a counselling psychologist my focus is on short and long term therapeutic interventions with adolescents and adults. Over the past twenty years, I have worked in a variety of therapeutic settings within South Africa and Canada. Through these experiences, I have developed special interests that include, but are not limited to anxiety, depression, grief and loss, stress management, adjustment issues, interpersonal difficulties and low self esteem.

 

My therapeutic approach is guided by what is most effective in assisting you, the individual, based on your own personality style and the type of problem you are facing. I therefore use more of an integrative approach in therapy. The therapeutic orientations that I draw on include Narrative Therapy, CBT, BWRT, Mindfulness and Psychodynamic theory.

 

I take a respectful, collaborative and non-pathologising approach to therapy. I believe that therapy should be a supportive environment where you feel assisted to better understand your own experiences and make the changes and decisions that best suit your life.
